Información del curso
The main
goal of this training is providing information about Basque fairy entities and
the role they had played in our society, generating popular customs and rites
to attract and avoid their influence.
It will be conducted in two parts: a pre-recorded theoretical session with
basic materials and a live extension session where we will delve into more
practical aspects. This second part will not be recorded in order to maintain
the privacy of the experiences shared in the group and encourage a more fluid
debate. At the same time, there will be a forum where the participants can
direct their questions and have the opportunity to exchange their impressions.
The contents addressed in this learning space are:
- Classification of faerie beings according to Basque mythology, considering
their distinctive features, behavior and magical abilities.
- Roles and functions of fairies in our folkloric framework, focusing the
attention on the magical professions and practices to which they have been associated.
- Likes and dislikes that can condition the relationship with them.
- Manifestations in the natural world: in the fauna, flora and landscape.
- Connections with other living beings, especially humans.
- Protocols to contact them and forge alliances to maintain a fruitful
relationship, avoiding the dangers that arise when they feel aggrieved.
This seminar includes two sessions (theoretical and practical), foundation material,
extended contents, additional resources and space to solve doubts. Everything shared
will be available for 1 month in the online classroom.
